Environmental Impact Assessment

Northern Bioscience has broad experience and training in legislated and proponent-driven environmental impact assessment for various industries (e.g., mining, renewable energy), linear corridors, cottage development, and other activities. Where larger projects warrant, Northern Bioscience can provide terrestrial, wetland, and aquatic expertise to larger planning and engineering firms. We can also provide cost-effective assessments for more limited development by private landowners.

We can assist with:

  • scoping and baseline studies supporting Environmental Assessments (EA) under the Canadian Environmental Assessment Act (CEAA)
  • identification of Valued Ecosystem Components (VECs), assessment of potential impacts, development of mitigation measures, and monitoring
  • preparation of Environmental Impact Statements (EIS) and studies for private landowners and smaller developments (EIS)
  • Site Assessments
  • development of mitigation and environmental protection plans
  • peer review of Environmental Assessments for First Nations, communities, ENGO’s, and other stakeholders
